Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of Miraval Blanc 2025

Tasting

Appearance
This wine reveals a pale yellow colour of great clarity, enhanced by bright golden highlights.

Nose
Particularly expressive and indulgent, the aromatic bouquet offers a beautiful freshness carried by scents of white flowers mingled with hints of citrus fruits such as lemon and pink grapefruit.

Palate
The attack on the palate displays great freshness, opening onto a generous, round and ample texture. The palate reveals delicious notes of juicy stone fruits and citrus, providing a perfect balance between liveliness and the indulgence of the fruit, all extending into a long and elegant finish with mineral nuances.

Food and wine pairings

This cuvée pairs wonderfully with grilled white fish with lemon, shellfish or herb-roasted poultry. It is also an ideal companion to grilled Mediterranean vegetables, summer salads with burrata, fresh goat's or sheep's cheeses, as well as fruity desserts such as an apricot tart.

The pure and mineral expression of a great white wine from the Côtes de Provence

The estate

Located in the heart of Provence, Château Miraval has origins dating back to Antiquity. Its modern era began in 2008 when it was acquired by Brad Pitt. Today, the estate is held in equal shares by the actor's Mondo Bongo company and another partner. Since 2012, a close collaboration with the renowned Perrin Family has helped raise the quality of the wines, turning this estate into a true brand of international renown. The vineyard extends over 30 hectares within a vast natural estate, cultivated with profound environmental commitment.

The vineyard

Nestled in an exclusive private valley in Correns, this unique terroir of the Côtes de Provence appellation rises to around 350 metres in altitude. The vines flourish on gentle slopes inclined from 5 to 9%. The clay-limestone soil rests on a subsoil of Keuper marl, a geology particularly conducive to the production of great white wines. The estate applies rigorous organic viticulture methods, without any use of chemical pesticides or herbicides, thus fostering preserved biodiversity and grapes of exceptional quality.

The vintage

The 2025 vintage was marked by complex and demanding climatic conditions. The summer season experienced several episodes of intense heat, particularly in August, leading to water stress on certain plots. These high temperatures favoured an early ripening of the berries. Although these weather conditions resulted in yields generally lower than the region's usual averages, they made it possible to obtain grapes of remarkable sanitary quality and great concentration.

Winemaking and ageing

To craft Miraval Blanc 2025, the harvest is carried out by hand during the cool hours of the morning. The grape bunches are picked in small 35-kilo crates before undergoing meticulous sorting. After destemming and gentle pressing, the musts ferment at low temperature in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Ageing takes place for half of the wine in wooden vessels, such as demi-muids and barrels, with regular bâtonnage operations aimed at enriching the texture and complexity of the wine.
