Tasting
Nose
The nose reveals aromas of ripe pears and pears in syrup, accompanied by delicate fruity notes.
Palate
On the palate, this champagne charms with its elegant structure and white fruit aromas. The delicate freshness is complemented by well-balanced acidity, leading to a taut finish with beautiful verticality.
Food and wine pairings
This champagne pairs perfectly with white meats such as pork and poultry. It also accompanies rich fish like salmon and tuna, as well as spicy dishes. For cheese, opt for soft cheeses that will respect the finesse of this champagne.
Serving and cellaring
Les Clos Extra Brut 2020 is ideally enjoyed at a serving temperature between 8 and 10°C.
A fruity and finely crafted champagne from the Vallée du Petit Morin
The estate
Founded in 1949 by Albert Bergère, A. Bergère continues a family winemaking tradition that began in 1848 in the Vallée du Petit Morin. Now run by André Bergère and his children Adrien (oenologist) and Annaëlle, the estate cultivates vineyards of chardonnay, pinot noir and meunier between Fèrebrianges and the Côte des Blancs. Their distinctive approach lies in the single-parcel vinification introduced by Adrien in 2014, the use of barrels, and their dual locations: the historic estate in the Vallée du Petit Morin and a prestigious boutique on Avenue de Champagne in Épernay since 2007.
The vineyard
Les Clos comes from the Fèrebrianges terroir, located in the Vallée du Petit Morin. The meunier vines, planted in 1970, thrive on soils composed of sand and clay. This environmentally conscious viticulture focuses on controlling vigor to allow for an authentic expression of this Champagne terroir.
Winemaking and aging
Vinification and aging on lees, partially in oak barrels.
Grape variety
100% pinot meunier.
