Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes of Cuvée Louise 2006 by Pommery
Tasting
Appearance
The wine displays a delicately luminous pale gold color, enhanced by celadon green highlights. The effervescence reveals fine, elegant bubbles that attest to the quality of its crafting.
Nose
Initially discreet on opening, the bouquet gradually reveals its complexity. It exudes a floral freshness marked by chamomile and dried herbs, elevated by subtle buttery notes with lightly smoky and spicy accents.
Palate
The attack is very smooth, driven by a pronounced minerality. The palate reveals flavors of fresh orange zest, mango, and mirabelle plum, before finishing on a creamy note with hints of bergamot.
Food and wine pairings
This cuvée pairs perfectly with a sea bream carpaccio accompanied by a creamy emulsion or with Arctic char served on a bed of fennel fondue.
Serving and cellaring
Cuvée Louise 2006 is ideally enjoyed at a temperature between 8 and 10°C to fully reveal its aromatic complexity.
A vintage champagne expressing the finesse of great terroirs
The estate
Founded in 1836 in Reims, Pommery turned to champagne in 1858 under the impetus of Louise Pommery. This visionary revolutionized the industry by creating Pommery Nature in 1874, the first brut champagne in history. Now owned by the Vranken-Pommery Monopole group led by Paul François and Nathalie Vranken, the House continues its pursuit of elegance under the direction of cellar master Thierry Gasco.
The vineyard
This Cuvée Louise Parcelle Edition 2006 comes from three historic Champagne vineyards classified as Grand Cru, selected for their exceptional quality.
