The Estate
The House of Champagne Valentin Leflaive was born from the meeting of two terroir enthusiasts recognized in their respective regions, Olivier Leflaive (Puligny-Montrachet) in Burgundy and Érick de Sousa (Côte des Blancs) in Champagne.
Named after Olivier Leflaive’s son, the Valentin Leflaive cuvées offer the experience of outstanding Champagnes from the region’s finest terroirs and are crafted with perfectly mastered Burgundian expertise.
The Vineyard
This Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Verzenay 15 40 cuvée from Valentin Leflaive comes from vines averaging 25 years old located on the Montagne de Reims, an emblematic terroir of Champagne. This vineyard, with a soil composed of chalk and silt, enjoys a north-facing exposure and is situated at an altitude of 320 meters.
The Label
In the name of transparency and modernity, each cuvée of Champagne Valentin Leflaive bears a dedicated code on its label. The letters define the grape variety and the plot of each cuvée, while the numbers indicate the years of the reserve wines used as well as the dosage.

Winemaking and aging
Hand-harvested, the grapes are fractionally pressed to separate and select the musts, which are then vinified in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 42 months on the lees, then disgorged on 06/07/2020.
