Description
The structure and power of a Grand Cru de Saint-Émilion
The estate
The Château Beauséjour has been recognised since the inception of the Saint-Émilion classification. This Premier Grand Cru Classé of the famous appellation located on the right bank of Bordeaux has been a family estate since 1847, owned by the Duffau-Lagarosse family.
The vineyard
This 7-hectare gem is rooted on the hillside of Saint-Émilion. The 40-year-old vines are planted on a mosaic of terroirs composed of clay-limestone soils atop astéries limestone. The vineyard is managed according to traditional methods and most often tended manually.
Blend
Merlot (88 %) and Cabernet Franc (12 %).
Characteristics and tasting recommendations for Château Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse 2017
Tasting
Nose
The intensity of the aromatic bouquet magnificently highlights the richness of black fruit aromas, revealing with aeration scents of lavender essence and wet chalk.
Palate
With power and elegance, the palate displays the breadth of its personality in a dense structure, revealing the chew of wrapped tannins. Energetic, the mid-palate retains the vivacity of fruit and spices, unfolding into the freshness of a persistent, saline finish.
