    Vinum

Wow, what a bouquet—deep, mineral, spicy, red and dark berries, smoky; on the palate silky-smooth, top-quality tannins, very well structured, elegant, with vivacity, finesse, and length. Once again, outstanding.

    Decanter

Grippy and cool, this has presence and focus in the mouth. Structured and chiselled with a cooling minty fresh acidity that drives the wine. Excellently displayed and presented, not rich but there's ripeness to the blackcurrant and plum fruit as well as purity and accents of smoke and cedar. Acidity is high giving extra tension but this isn't too sour or sharp. Needs some more time in oak to soften the edges but this has elegance. 70% new oak.

Spicy, black currants, cedar, cigar wrappers, spearmint, and floral aromas only take a single swirl to find. The palate is medium-bodied, chewy, crisp, and racy, with an open character allowing all of the sweet, vibrant, red currants, strawberries, and peppery garrigue notes to come through easily on the palate and in the classic-oriented finish. The wine is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon with 22% Merlot, 13.2% ABV. The Grand Vin was produced from 60% of the crop. Picking took place September 25 - October 8. Drink from 2028 - 2050. 92-94 Pts

    Le Figaro Vin

A noble bouquet, marked by distinction, revealing from the outset a pronounced chalky minerality along with heady wisteria notes. The palate is both crystalline and creamy, with a wave of freshly ground coffee on the long finish.

A great Pauillac wine seducing with freshness and elegance

    The estate

Located in the heart of the appellation Pauillac, on the left bank of Bordeaux, the Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste took its current form in 1855, although it was established as early as the 16th century. The estate was shaped by the tenure of Raymond Dupin from 1930 to 1978. He then handed it over to the Borie family in 1978, which has since carried out numerous renovations. Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is today one of the most representative crus of the Pauillac appellation.

    The vineyard

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a Pauillac wine produced from a 90-hectare vineyard, 60 hectares of which are planted in one block. The vines, averaging 38 years old, are planted on deep gravelly slopes.

    The vintage

The 2024 vintage demonstrates the team's resilience in the face of atypical weather, marked by a mild winter and a hot, dry summer conducive to excellent grape ripeness. Despite some coulure and millerandage on the Cabernet Sauvignon, yields are satisfactory (38 hl/ha) and quality is on point. Manual harvests, conducted with rigor from September 25 to October 8, allowed for careful selection. Gentle vinifications revealed an elegant, flavorful and accessible wine, enhanced by measured barrel aging.

    Vinification and aging

Aged in French oak barrels (70% new).

    Blend

Cabernet Sauvignon (78%) and Merlot (22%).
