Vertdevin
The wine shows a fairly deep ruby colour. The nose is reserved at first and needs aeration. It then offers concentration, juiciness and fleshy fruity aromas: morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, wild strawberry, damson plum, wild blackberry. There is also a subtle menthol note, hints of smoke, vanilla and liquorice, a touch of bitter cocoa, as well as fresh flowers (lily, rose, violet). On the palate, the wine offers a firm structure and ripe fruit density. It displays notes of juicy morello cherry, red cherry jam, wild strawberry, a hint of blackcurrant and blueberry, along with spices (liquorice, vanilla, clove), a smoky touch and floral tones (cornflower, lily). The mid-palate is enveloping, supported by firm, slightly gripping tannins and a mouth-watering acidity. The finish is persistent, tannic and fruit-driven.
