Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the 2025 Grandmontains by Domaine Laporte

Tasting Notes

Appearance
The colour reveals a beautiful pale yellow hue, brightened by golden or silvery highlights depending on the terroirs from which the wine originates.

Nose
Wonderfully pure, the nose reveals a complex and elegant aromatic palette. It exudes citrus and white fruit aromas, nuanced by floral notes and a delicate minerality, sometimes underscored by subtle smoky or iodine touches.

Palate
On the palate, the wine offers a remarkable mineral tension and great freshness. Depending on the plot, the texture is at times crisp and precise, or rounder and velvety, extending into a long, persistent and refined finish.

Food and Wine Pairings

This white wine pairs perfectly with delicate fish such as turbot, seafood, shellfish or smoked fish. It also goes wonderfully with white meats and goat cheeses, particularly the traditional Crottin de Chavignol.

Serving and Cellaring

To fully enjoy this 2025 Sancerre Blanc, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 13°C. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for approximately 3 to 8 years, depending on the cuvée.

The Pure and Mineral Expression of a Great Sancerre Terroir

The Estate

Founded in 1850, Domaine Laporte is an unmissable reference in France, in the Loire Valley. Located in Saint-Satur, at the foot of the famous outcrop, the estate spans 21 hectares of vines tended with passion. Today, the estate is run by Arnaud and Cédric Bourgeois, from an illustrious local winemaking family. Committed advocates for the environment, they carry on the estate's legacy by championing a rigorous plot-by-plot approach and organic farming certification, guaranteeing wines that are authentic and true to their terroir.

The Vineyard

The estate's Sancerre vineyard benefits from a mild microclimate, directly regulated by the nearby river. The vines flourish across an exceptional geological mosaic, made up of the region's emblematic flint soils, clay rich in stones, and limestone-based "caillottes". The entire estate has been certified organic since 2013, favouring cover crops between the rows, the use of organic fertilisers and natural treatments to preserve biodiversity and soil vitality.

Winemaking and Ageing

The production of this 2025 Sancerre Blanc begins with gentle low-pressure pneumatic pressing, followed by cold static settling. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 18 and 20°C, using yeasts specifically selected for each plot. To preserve the grape variety's natural freshness and tension, no malolactic fermentation is carried out. This Sancerre white wine then undergoes careful ageing on fine lees for up to nine months before bottling.
