The refinement and balance of a Chablis Premier Cru

The estate

A key player on the Chablis scene, Domaine Laroche has roots in a thousand-year history dating back to the 9th century. Since 2009, it has been part of the Advini group, which perpetuates its heritage by cultivating a style combining precision, purity of expression, and elegance. The estate's wines faithfully embody the diversity of Chablis climates, revealing all their aromatic complexity.

The vineyard

The Les Beauroys climat is located on a hillside mainly facing south, sometimes swept by drying east winds. The vineyard enjoys generous sunshine, although very hot years can cause water stress. The Chardonnay vines are rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone soil typical of Chablis.

The vintage

The 2023 vintage in Burgundy is characterized by its generosity and high quality. Climatic and disease pressures appeared from late winter to spring, before a heatwave in late August improved conditions. The harvest began on September 7th with a plot-by-plot strategy aimed at preserving the freshness and minerality of Chablis despite unusually rapid ripening. Fermentations took place under optimal conditions and yields returned to the appellation's satisfactory historical averages.

Winemaking and aging

The harvest for the Chablis Premier Cru "Les Beauroys" 2023 is carried out manually with sorting of the bunches at the estate. Pneumatic pressing is performed at low pressure with separation of fractions and conservation of only the heart of the press. After settling for about twelve hours at 12-15°C in large vats, alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place on fine lees, half in stainless steel vats and half in French oak barrels. Aging in the historic cellars of the Obédiencerie extends up to 12 months between fermentation and bottling.
