The Excellence of a White Burgundy Grand Cru by Louis Latour
The Estate
Established in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, the Louis Latour estate has remained an independent family-owned house for over two centuries in Burgundy. Owner of the largest Grand Cru estate in the Côte d'Or, the Latour family cultivates prestigious plots on the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Unique in its combination of viticulture and family cooperage, Louis Latour stands out for its traditional vision combined with a modern approach.
The Vineyard
The "Les Demoiselles" parcel lies in the heart of the Chevalier-Montrachet appellation, in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet. The vines, averaging 40 years of age, flourish on clay and chalk soils. Vineyard management favors controlled yields of 35 hl/ha and manual harvesting.
Vinification and Aging
Traditional vinification in oak barrels with complete malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place over 8 to 10 months in 100% new French oak barriques with medium toast, from the Louis Latour cooperage.
Grape Variety
This Grand Cru is made exclusively from Chardonnay.
