Food pairings and serving moments

Casa Dragones Mizunara is best enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a small ice cube in a whiskey glass or a stemless flute, allowing its unique aromatic complexity to be fully appreciated.

Mixology

While this reposado can be enjoyed in signature tequila-based cocktails, its exceptional complexity makes it a sipping spirit that deserves to be savored unadorned.

An exceptional Mexican reposado aged in Japanese Mizunara oak barrels

Casa Dragones, the pinnacle of Mexican super-premium tequila

Casa Dragones, founded in 2009 by Bertha González Nieves, the first certified Maestra Tequilera, and Robert W. Pittman, co-creator of MTV, embodies the excellence of Mexican super-premium tequila. Based in San Miguel de Allende in the former stables of the historic Dragones, this House produces its spirits in small batches in the Jalisco region. Casa Dragones remains led by its co-founders, standing out through innovations such as Reposado Mizunara, aged in rare Japanese oak barrels, and crystal bottles engraved by hand using the traditional pepita technique.

Casa Dragones Mizunara, a groundbreaking innovation in the world of tequila

Casa Dragones Mizunara marks a world first: the first reposado aged exclusively in new Mizunara casks, a rare oak native to Japan traditionally used for aging Japanese whiskies. Crafted from 100% agave, this tequila is the result of an exceptional collaboration between Mexican and Japanese craftsmanship.

Mizunara trees, characterized by their twisted trunks and branches, can grow for up to 200 years before being harvested and artisanally made into the highest-quality casks in Japan. Casa Dragones began importing its first Japanese barrels in 2018, working with Japan’s only independent cooperage to create casks made from 100% new Mizunara. This innovative approach creates a unique flavor profile that combines the minerality of agave with the subtle characteristics of Japanese oak.
