An elegant and generous Spanish red wine from a high-altitude terroir
The estate
For five generations, the Torres family has embodied values of excellence, tradition and innovation, with each member guided by the same will: to produce great wines. Recognized as the World's Most Admired Wine Brand in 2024 by "Drinks International" magazine, the Torres family is a benchmark in the Spanish wine landscape. Originally from the Penedès region, the Torres family has continuously expanded throughout Spain. Today, they own more than 1,300 hectares of vineyards, distributed across several estates in the heart of the country's most prestigious wine regions.
The vineyard
The vineyard producing the Celeste cuvée is located in the Ribera del Duero appellation at an exceptional altitude of 895 meters above sea level. This location makes it one of the highest vineyards in the appellation and provides the grapes with unique ripening conditions.
The vintage
The year 2022 was characterized by rainfall amounting to about half of that recorded the previous year. Rains were concentrated during the ripening period between August and September. The vintage also experienced above-average temperatures, punctuated by several summer heatwaves that shaped the vegetative cycle.
Winemaking and ageing
Celeste 2022 benefits from a 15-day maceration. Alcoholic fermentation lasts about a week and takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 20 and 26°C. The wine is then aged for 3 months in oak barrels, refining its structure while preserving the intensity of its fruit.
Grape variety
100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), the emblematic grape variety of Ribera del Duero.
