Tasting

Nose

The nose opens with juniper, accompanied by notes of génépi and pine.

Palate

The palate is spicy, with pepper, nutmeg and clove. The finish is incredibly delicate, leaving aromas of verbena, sage and lychee.

Mixology

This gin was named the world's best gin for Gin & Tonic by the IWSC in 2015. It is therefore ideally suited to making this great classic.

Other characteristics

This Finnish dry gin is crafted from whole Finnish rye. It is bottled at 42.6% ABV in a 50 cl format.

Kyrö, a Finnish distillery born in a sauna

It all began with an idea for a rye whisky, conceived in a sauna. Five friends made it a reality in 2012 by founding the company in Isokyrö, Finland. They set up their distillery in a former dairy on the banks of the Kyrö River and fired up their first stills in 2014. The House, The Kyrö Distillery Company, has remained independent.

Its distinctiveness lies in an unwavering commitment to whole Finnish rye, used for both its whisky and its gin. This grain is arguably the most difficult to distil because of its temperament. Kyrö has made it its signature.

Kyrö Gin, a Finnish rye dry gin

This gin is a dry gin made from a Finnish rye distillate. The distillate is macerated with 17 local wild botanicals, including meadowsweet, lingonberries and birch leaves. The rye, used as a whole grain, gives the gin its structure. The Nordic botanicals lend it a profile that is both spicy and delicate.

Kyrö Gin was named the world's best gin for Gin & Tonic by the IWSC in 2015. It is offered in a 50 cl bottle at 42.6% ABV.
