Description
A fresh Italian white wine with beautiful structure
The estate
Prunotto stands on an estate rich in winemaking, cultural, historical and traditional heritage. The wines crafted by this Italian estate showcase the typical aromas of grapes grown on these hills. The estate’s various vineyards stretch across the finest growing areas of Piedmont. The Antinori - Prunotto estate uses all the modern technology necessary to produce high-quality Piedmont wines.
The vineyard
The 50 hectares of this Piedmont property are located in Alba, equidistant from Barbaresco and Barolo. Antinori - Prunotto is set on a magnificent smooth, colorful plain in the Langhe and Roero region.
The vintage
The 2024 season began with a mild winter and some rainfall that helped partially replenish water reserves after the previous summer’s drought. Budbreak proceeded normally. Spring and summer were punctuated by showers, requiring rigorous soil management and green harvesting to ensure good sugar concentration and lovely freshness. The Moscato harvest took place from September 4 to 16.
Winemaking and aging
The hand-picked grapes were gently crushed and briefly left in contact with the skins to extract aromas. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks until reaching 5% alcohol, then was halted by a sudden drop in temperature. This Moscato d'Asti wine was then clarified, filtered and bottled.
Grape variety
Moscato Bianco di Canelli (100%).
