Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Clos de la Lune Blanc 2025
Tasting
Colour
Pale yellow hue, enhanced by bright, luminous highlights.
Nose
Wonderfully delicate, the bouquet reveals elegant floral notes intertwined with soft citrus aromas, particularly reminiscent of pomelo.
Palate
The attack is remarkably subtle and lively. The palate then unveils a generous, rounded texture carried by white-fleshed fruit flavours. The whole offers a beautiful length, perfectly balanced between indulgence and freshness.
Food and wine pairings
This cuvée will pair wonderfully with seafood, such as delicately grilled sea bass, shellfish or a carpaccio of scallops. It also makes an ideal companion to Provençal cuisine or a risotto with fresh herbs.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate the Clos de la Lune Blanc 2025, it is recommended to serve it chilled, at a temperature between 8 and 10°C. While it can be enjoyed in its youth to make the most of its liveliness, it also has the capacity to evolve in the cellar until around 2030, developing enticing toasted notes.
The luminous expression of a great white Côtes de Provence by Clos de la Lune
The estate
Legally founded in 2014 under the leadership of its current president, Gérard Herisson, Clos de la Lune is located in Cogolin, at the heart of Provence. This Var-based estate has made its mark by developing a unique philosophy, based on the harmony between the land, the sea and the lunar cycles. Although the agronomic history of the site is much older, the contemporary structure focuses on producing wines that faithfully reflect their Mediterranean terroir, while embracing an approach that respects natural rhythms.
The vineyard
Nestled within the Massif des Maures, the vines enjoy a privileged setting between the hills and the Mediterranean Sea. This exceptional terroir, typical of the Côtes de Provence appellation, benefits from an ideal Mediterranean climate. The sea breezes temper the summer heat, while the nature of the soils allows the grape variety to draw out all its complexity, finesse and beautiful aromatic expression.
The vintage
The 2025 vintage offered climatic conditions mild and favourable enough to allow the estate to produce wines in all three colours. This recent vintage thus ensured a healthy harvest, conducive to crafting well-balanced wines.
Vinification and ageing
The making of the Clos de la Lune Blanc 2025 begins with night-time harvesting, a method chosen to preserve aromatic freshness and limit oxidation. The berries are pressed very quickly, less than an hour after picking. The juices then undergo cold settling to clarify naturally. Alcoholic fermentation is carefully controlled between 15°C and 18°C. Finally, the wine is racked in three distinct stages, thus avoiding any early filtration.
Grape variety
This cuvée is made exclusively from 100% Vermentino.
