Description
The freshness and complexity of a great white wine from Burgundy
The estate
With a heritage dating back to the 9th century, the Domaine Laroche is an emblematic figure of Chablis, in Burgundy. Since its integration into the Advini group in 2009, the estate has distinguished itself by producing wines of great precision, accurately revealing the diversity and finesse of the Chablis climates. Its demanding approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, allows it to sign elegant and expressive cuvées, praised for their aromatic purity.
The vineyard
Located on the eastern slope of the Grands Crus hill, the "Les Blanchots" climate rests on a unique terroir composed of Kimmeridgian limestone and white clays mixed with fossilized shells. This geological richness gives the wine a marked mineral signature. Domaine Laroche cultivates 4.56 hectares out of the 12.7 that cover the entire cru. The east/southeast orientation limits sun exposure to the morning, promoting slow and regular ripening of the grapes, for Chablis wines with remarkable balance.
Vinification and aging
The grapes are hand-picked, then carefully sorted upon their arrival at the cellar. The vinification is based on aging on fine lees, combining stainless steel and French oak barrels. This method preserves the freshness of the wine while developing its aromatic complexity and texture.
Grape variety
This Chablis Grand Cru "Les Blanchots" 2023 from Domaine Laroche is 100% Chardonnay.
