Appearance
Deep golden yellow, this intense color immediately reveals the richness of tropical aging.

Nose
Fresh and creamy, the nose unveils exotic notes dominated by pineapple. Fermentative aromas mingle with slightly petrol-like and medicinal touches reminiscent of arnica. A milky dimension evoking coconut is accompanied by delicate scents of agave flower and artichoke heart.

Palate
Round and indulgent, it opens with vanilla notes before developing a herbaceous character reminiscent of sugar cane and agave. The fibrous texture evokes gentian root, while menthol notes refresh the palate. Exotic flavors of candied banana harmoniously blend with notes of nuts and mineral touches reminiscent of chalk.

Pairings and tasting moments

To be enjoyed at room temperature (18-20°C) to appreciate all its aromatic complexity. This rum will perfectly accompany a dessert based on exotic fruits or intense dark chocolate. It also proves to be an excellent companion for a contemplative end of the evening.

An exceptional Jamaican rum with exotic and complex aromas

The historical heritage of Hampden Estate

Hampden Estate, founded in 1753 in Jamaica, is an iconic distillery that has preserved its traditional production methods for over 260 years. Under the direction of Loretta Marston since 2009, Hampden stands out for its high ester rums, resulting from long fermentations and distillation in pot stills.

1753: the essence of Jamaican know-how

Referencing the year the distillery was founded, the rum from Jamaica 1753 celebrates Hampden's unique heritage by offering an expression faithful to the inimitable style of this legendary distillery. This spirit benefits from long fermentations that develop its complex and distinctive aromas. Distillation is carried out exclusively in pot stills, thus preserving all the aromatic richness of the distillate.

This rum undergoes 100% tropical aging for three years in bourbon barrels, a process that significantly accelerates maturation thanks to local climatic conditions. This tropical maturation gives the spirit remarkable intensity and complexity despite its young age.

Bottled at 46% alcohol, Hampden 1753 offers a perfect balance between power and accessibility. Its elegant case underlines the premium character of this product, the result of a collaboration with the famous Italian trader Velier, known for its rigorous selection of exceptional spirits.

Launched in July 2018, this rum marks an important milestone in the distillery's history, representing the first aged rums marketed under the Hampden brand. It embodies the authenticity and unique character of traditional Jamaican rums, while offering a tasting experience accessible to both enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
