Tardieu Laurent : Côte-Rôtie "Vieilles Vignes" 2023
Description
The balance and depth of a Côte-Rôtie wine
The estate
Driven by a sincere passion for wine and great terroirs, Michel Tardieu founded the Tardieu-Laurent estate in 1996, alongside his wife. Over the years, this family house has become a key figure in the Rhône Valley, recognized for its emblematic cuvées.
For two generations, the estate has highlighted the most beautiful appellations in the region - Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Condrieu, Hermitage, Vacqueyras, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage... - by producing refined and expressive wines, resulting from meticulous vinification.
The wine
The Côte-Rôtie "Vieilles Vignes" comes exclusively from exceptional terroirs located on the Côte Brune: Landonne, Lancement, Chavaroche. The vines, planted in the heart of the slopes, have an average age of over 60 years, guaranteeing great depth.
Vinification and aging
The vinification is carried out in whole bunches. The wine then benefits from a two-stage aging process: 12 months in oak barrels (new and one wine), followed by an additional 12 months in foudres, to gain in complexity and harmony.
Blend
This Côte-Rôtie "Vieilles Vignes" signed Tardieu-Laurent is made exclusively from syrah.
