The estate
The Domaine National de Chambord in the Loire has been owned by the French State since 1930 and managed by a public industrial and commercial establishment since 2005. The estate reconnects with its historical winemaking heritage by planting a contemporary vineyard managed under certified organic farming. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, it perpetuates excellence through a respectful approach combining on-site vinification, manual harvesting, and indigenous yeasts.
The vineyard
The vineyard for this AOC Cheverny cuvée stretches across predominantly sandy soils with clay subsoils, typical of Sologne. The vines benefit from a north-south exposure. Vineyard management follows certified organic farming principles, with manual harvesting taking place every year.
Winemaking and aging
The Vin Blanc de Chambord 2022 is produced using methods adapted to each vintage. After skin maceration, the grapes are destemmed and then pressed. Cold settling is followed by low-temperature fermentation, allowing for a slower alcoholic fermentation and preserving primary aromas. Winemaking and aging take place entirely in stainless steel tanks at the Château de Chambord, without the addition of artificial yeasts.
Blend
This Loire wine is a blend of 60% Sauvignon and 40% Orbois.
