Description
The elegance and precision of a white wine from Savoie
The estate
Born from the replanting of the Cevins hillside, undertaken in 1998 by Michel Grisard, the Domaine des Ardoisières represents the emblematic property of the Savoyard qualitative revival.
While the realization of this ambitious project begins with Michel Grisard, an authentic biodynamic winemaker, he was quickly joined in 2003 by Brice Omont. This agricultural engineer from Champagne has been managing the estate since 2010, accompanied by 12 non-operating partners.
The vineyard
Produced under the IGP Vin des Allobroges designation, the Argile cuvée comes from a vineyard located on the hillside of Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy with clay soils composed of schistose marl and hard black schist. The vines are cultivated on hillsides and face west.
Winemaking and aging
The harvest is hand-picked and carefully sorted. Gentle pressing precedes light cold settling, then the musts are transferred into barrels where alcoholic fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation is not systematically carried out. After aging for 9 months, the wine is racked and bottled.
Grape varieties
Argile 2024 from Domaine des Ardoisières is a blend of jacquère, chardonnay and mondeuse blanche.
