    Description

Characteristics and tasting tips for the Chablis Premier Cru "Les Beugnons" Domaine Long-Depaquit 2023 from Albert Bichot

    Tasting

    Colour
The wine shows a pale yellow colour with subtle golden highlights.

    Nose
The particularly expressive nose opens with scents of perfectly ripe white and yellow-fleshed fruits. Mineral notes of silex and flint complete this aromatic palette.

    Palate
The palate seduces with a harmonious blend of complexity and freshness. Minerality asserts itself with character before giving way to nuances of nuts and fresh hazelnut, leading to a long and elegant finish.

    Food and wine

This Chablis Premier Cru pairs perfectly with seafood, especially scallops and prawns. It also elevates raw, marinated or grilled fish. The ideal pairing is revealed with salmon sushi.

    Service and storage

The Chablis Premier Cru "Les Beugnons" Domaine Long-Depaquit 2023 should be enjoyed between 11 and 13°C. It can be enjoyed young or cellared until around 2030.

The freshness and precision of a Chablis Premier Cru

    The estate

Founded in Monthélie in 1831 by Bernard Bichot, the Albert Bichot house is today a major reference in Burgundy. Under the direction of Albéric Bichot, it manages more than 100 hectares, spread across six estates, from Chablis to Beaujolais. In Chablis, Domaine Long-Depaquit covers approximately 52 hectares. A pioneer of sustainable viticulture in Burgundy since the 1980s, the house combines family heritage with modernity.

    The vineyard

The "Les Beugnons" Climat is located on the left bank of the Serein, in an area protected by many trees. Although attached to the Vaillons Climat, this "Lieu-dit" has kept its name, reflecting the unique identity of its plot. The 2.30 hectares of vines, averaging 15 years old, are planted on clay soils mixed with Portlandian limestone scree, over a subsoil of Kimmeridgian marl. The advantageous exposure and very light soils lend the wines a distinct minerality, coupled with rich and ripe aromas. This cuvée remains a rarity from Chablis.

    Winemaking and ageing

The harvest of the Chablis Premier Cru "Les Beugnons" Domaine Long-Depaquit 2022 is carried out by hand, followed by strict sorting. Slow and moderate pressing ensures gentle extraction of the juices. Alcoholic fermentation and ageing on fine lees take place over 11 to 12 months in stainless steel tanks, preserving the purity and freshness of the fruit.

    Grape variety

This white wine from Burgundy is a 100% Chardonnay.
