Founded in 1743, the Champagne House Moët & Chandon continues to inscribe its prestigious heritage in history, spanning over two centuries.
An iconic House in Champagne
Although the exact production volume remains confidential, this estate is recognized as one of the largest champagne producers. The cuvées of Moët & Chandon, celebrating the subtleties of the region’s three main grape varieties (pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay), come from an exceptional vineyard, 50% of which is classified as Grand Cru and 25% as Premier Cru. These vines flourish in a sublime, rolling landscape on terroirs composed of limestone and chalk formed during the Cretaceous era. This exceptional geological composition imparts a unique signature to the champagnes, characterized by remarkable minerality and aromatic intensity.
Under the direction of the renowned cellar master Benoît Gouez, the creations of Moët & Chandon reveal a subtle expression, oscillating between richness and finesse. Characterized by their bright fruitiness and subtly creamy texture, these champagnes exhibit great elegance, embodying the signature style of the House.
Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial: a timeless icon
A symbol of elegance and celebration, Moët & Chandon’s Brut Impérial has embodied the art of French champagne for over 150 years. Created in 1869, this emblematic cuvée owes its name to the admiration Jean-Rémy Moët held for Napoleon Bonaparte, a loyal supporter of the House and the initiator of the iconic sabrage ritual.
Crafted from the three Champagne grape varieties (pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay), Brut Impérial captivates with its perfect balance between generosity and freshness. Its secret lies partly in the incorporation of 20 to 30% reserve wines, ensuring remarkable consistency and complexity year after year.
Moët & Chandon – exceptional rosé champagnes
As a symbol of the Maison’s savoir-faire, Moët & Chandon’s rosé champagnes come in various expressions, blending tradition and innovation. The Brut Impérial Rosé, with a dominant presence of pinot noir and pinot meunier, captivates with its intense fruitiness and refreshing menthol notes, embodying the timeless elegance of the Maison. Bolder and more unconventional, the Ice Impérial Rosé breaks the rules with its generous dosage and indulgent profile, designed to be enjoyed over ice in a festive and exuberant spirit. As a prestige cuvée, the Grand Vintage Rosé represents excellence and patience: produced only in exceptional years, it matures for an extended period in the cellar to reveal a pure and refined structure, enhanced by a delicate dosage.
The other creations of Moët & Chandon, symbols of innovation
Brut, Rosé, Vintage… Moët & Chandon masterfully combines tradition, audacity, and excellence. In addition to its iconic Brut Impérial, Moët & Chandon offers a diverse collection embodying craftsmanship and boldness. The Grand Vintage, on the other hand, reveals vintage cuvées of great complexity, both elegant and structured. Finally, the House innovates with the Ice Impérial cuvée, a champagne designed to be enjoyed over ice, reinterpreting the freshness and elegance of the Moët & Chandon style.
Magnums – Superior Aging Potential
Magnums provide ideal conditions for wine aging by limiting oxidation, thanks to a lower proportion of air compared to a standard 75 cl bottle. Their thermal inertia reduces the impact of temperature fluctuations, slowing down the wine’s evolution. This format helps preserve the wine’s freshness, primary aromas, acidity, and tannic structure for a longer period.
Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage, Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial, Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial Rosé... these exceptional creations are available in various large formats.
