The Lancelot Pienne Champagne house symbolises, with simplicity and authenticity, what Champagne has to offer: a heritage and know-how that has been perpetuated from generation to generation and the expression of a rich and unique terroir. Established for over 120 years in the heart of the Champagne region, near Cramant, the Lancelot Pienne family cultivates the 8.30 hectares of vines planted on the terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Marne Valley with great passion and love.
A winemaker at heart, Jean Lancelot developed a love for vines thanks to his father, Jean-Baptiste Lancelot. After having gained a wealth of experience from working for various Champagne houses, Jean marketed the first bottles of Lancelot Pienne Champagnes after the Second World War.
Benefiting from this rich heritage, Albert, one of Jean's sons, took over the running of the family estate. His marriage to Brigitte Pienne, who also came from a winemaking family, led to the merger of the two families' vineyards. The Lancelot Pienne House is one of those family estates that has managed to preserve its independence and mastery of the art of Champagne, from the vine to the marketing its bottles. A family business, the house sells around 70,000 bottles per year, 60% of which are exported.
