Description

Chateau Faurie de Souchard 2016: a deep and structured Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

A Grand Cru classified of Saint-Emilion, the Chateau Faurie de Souchard is a red wine from a 12-hectare vineyard. Aged 20 years on average, the vines are planted on a clay slope and at the foot of the slope from sand and clay. The estate makes a blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Chateau Faurie de Souchard 2016 is in barrels for 14 to 16 months depending on the plots, with a proportion of 75% in new barrels and 25% in old ones.

The Chateau Faurie de Souchard 2016 develops a rather opulent and concentrated bouquet with aromas of black cherries and raspberry coulis. On the palate, there is a structured attack with touches of tobacco. This is a profound wine that offers a superbly structured finish.
