The vivacity and balance of a Corsican Red wine
The estate
Located in the high-altitude village of Ponte Leccia, Clos Venturi is one of the newest estates in Corsica, born in the early 2000s from the subdivision of the finest terroirs of the domaine Vico, another property of Jean-Marc and Manu Venturi.
The vineyard
This estate in Corsica oversees a vineyard of about twenty hectares.
The wine
This Chiesa Nera rouge is a vin de France produced from vines planted on sandstone soils, oriented south/southeast. Meaning "black church", this wine is a tribute to intergenerational transmission within the estate.
Winemaking and aging
Hand-harvested, the grapes are partially destemmed before fermentation in foudres with indigenous yeasts. Maceration lasts about 30 days. Aging takes place over 10 months in foudres, 10 months in amphorae, then 4 to 6 months in bottle.
Grape varieties
Aleatica, niellucciu, sciaccarellu, minustellu, morescola, carcaghjolu neru, moresconu and vermentinu.
