Description
A lively Champagne with a beautiful aromatic structure
The estate
Located in Dizy in the Vallée de la Marne, the Champagne Jacquesson House, founded in 1798, was taken over by the Chiquet family in 1974. Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet, two passionate brothers, craft exceptional cuvées through their parcel-based approach and unique winemaking and aging philosophy, expressing the distinctive character and richness of these outstanding 28 hectares of chalk terroirs.
With its numbered cuvées renowned for their finesse, airy purity, and exceptional aging potential, Jacquesson is part of the elite among the great names of Champagne.
The wine
The 743 Dégorgement Tardif cuvée is crafted from Champagne vineyards in Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, Champillon (60%), Avize, and Oiry (40%). The base year is 2015.
The vintage
The winter and much of the spring were marked by mild and wet conditions. This phase was followed by a prolonged period of drought and high temperatures, lasting until mid-August. The end of the season alternated between damp coolness and dry heat. The harvest, carried out from September 10 to 30, yielded a homogenous crop of perfectly ripe, healthy grapes in moderate quantity, with beautiful acidity.
Winemaking and aging
Aged for 89 months on lees. Aging under cork. No dosage.
Blend
The Cuvée 743 Dégorgement Tardif is the result of a blend dominated by pinot noir, complemented by 21% reserve wines from Cuvées no.742 to 735.
