Expression of the Great Terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The Estate

The Famille Perrin stands as one of the emblematic names of the Vallée du Rhône, thanks to a demanding artisanal approach and a profound respect for the terroir. Pioneers of organic viticulture since 1950, then of biodynamics since 1974, the Perrins produce internationally renowned wines, lauded for their purity and authentic expression of the vineyard.

The Wine

The Les Sinards cuvée is a Vallée du Rhône wine sourced from young vines at Domaine de Beaucastel as well as vines managed under lease. The vines flourish on soils blending Urgonian limestone and Miocene marine molasse, scattered with rolled pebbles characteristic of the appellation.

The Vintage

The 2022 vintage was marked by extreme climatic conditions, with a very dry winter and spring that promoted excellent vine health. Despite contrasting weather, grape quality proved remarkable, although yields varied across plots. Salvaging rains in August enabled optimal ripening, resulting in early harvests from 19 August.

Vinification and Ageing

Each grape variety is harvested separately and meticulously sorted upon arrival at the winery. Syrah is partly vinified with whole clusters, the remainder being destemmed, as is the case with Grenache. After blending, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine is aged for two years in oak vats, to reveal its full depth and complexity.

Blend

Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah.
