Description

The structure and aromatic intensity of a Bandol rosé wine

The estate

Georges Delille, who had a great passion for Bandol wines, founded the Domaine de Terrebrune in 1963. After significant renovations of the terraces, restoration of the stone walls and planting of vines, Georges Delille brought out his first vintage in 1980. His son, Reynald, has since led the estate from the sidelines. Since 2020, businessman Jean d’Arthyus took over with the same rigorous approach to quality with respect for the environment and tradition.

The vineyard

The 30-hectare terraced vineyard is managed organically and overhangs the Mediterranean Sea. Its soil is made up of limestone pebbles in brown clay, which inspired the "Terrebrune" (brown earth) name of the estate. This thousand-year-old poor soil favours the deep rooting of the vines through the cracks in the limestone and contributes to the unique signature of its Bandol wines.

Vinification and ageing

The grapes are harvested when fully ripe and are sorted by hand and put into vats by gravity following a delicate crushing. The skin of the grapes is protected, thus avoiding oxidation. Fermentation is carried out at low temperature in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, as is the ageing process until the wine reaches its natural stability, thus preserving its finesse and sensory balance.

Blend

Mourvèdre (60%)
Grenache (20%)
Cinsault (20%).
