An authentic Romorantin from the viticultural heritage of Domaine National de Chambord

    The estate

Property of the French State since 1930, Domaine National de Chambord is an exceptional heritage site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. Located in Sologne in the Loire, this 5,440-hectare estate is home to the largest château in the Loire, built starting in 1519 by François Ier. In 2015, the estate revived its winemaking tradition by replanting 14 hectares of vines cultivated using certified organic farming.

    The vineyard

This Vin de France comes from vines with a north-south exposure, planted on predominantly sandy soils mixed with clay in the subsoil. The grapes are harvested manually every year at optimal maturity.

    Winemaking and aging

After manual harvesting at optimal maturity, Romorantin 2022 undergoes cold settling. Alcoholic fermentation is conducted at low temperatures to slow down the process and enhance the primary aromas. Winemaking and aging take place entirely in stainless steel vats. No malolactic fermentation is carried out. The wine is produced and aged at Domaine de Chambord, without the addition of artificial yeasts.

    Grape variety

Romorantin (100%) is a historic and rare grape variety, introduced to the Loire Valley by François Ier. It gives the wine great aging potential as well as a unique aromatic complexity.
