Bodega DiamAndes : Key Points

In 2005, Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie, the owner of Chateau Malartic Lagraviere and Chateau Gazin Rocquencourt in Bordeaux ventured from France to the Uco Valley in Argentina to establish Bodega DiamAndes. Today, the Bonnie family utilizes both their French and Argentinean team to create terroir driven wines with a great sense of place. The Spanish word “diamante” or diamond and the nearby Andes Mountains inspire the winery name.

With 321 acres just south of Mendoza, the winery has great terroir with alluvial sandy clay soils and rock, allowing for the area’s famed Malbec grapes to shine. The winery also has vines of Syrah and other red varieties and a few plots of Chardonnay and Viognier. Located near the Andes, the vineyards range in elevation and benefit from an arid and temperate climate.

The Bodegas DiamAndes Perlita Malbec-Syrah is a lovely blend combining the smoothness of Syrah and the bold fruit forward notes of Malbec. It is full, with velvet tannins, a fruity structure and a rounded spice note for a great everyday wine.
