Description
Tasting notes and recommendations for the Cuvée Royale Extra Brut Organic by Joseph Perrier
Tasting
Color
The color reveals a pale golden hue, laced with fine, bright bubbles.
Nose
The bouquet displays lovely aromatic complexity. Delicate notes of exotic fruits unfold with aromas of papaya, mango, and guava, alongside hints of candied lemon and citrus fruits.
Palate
The attack is lively and straightforward. On the palate, flavors of yellow fruits such as nectarine and mirabelle plum come through. The palate is generous, with substance and beautiful balance. The finish offers a pleasant, refreshing length.
Food and wine pairings
This cuvée is ideally enjoyed as an aperitif. It also pairs elegantly with oysters, fish dishes, as well as preparations based on white meat.
Serving and cellaring
It is recommended to serve this Champagne between 8 and 10°C.
An organic Champagne combining finesse and character
The estate
Founded in 1825 in Châlons-en-Champagne, the Joseph Perrier House remains family-owned to this day, with 24 hectares of vineyards spread across Cumières, Hautvillers, and Damery. Under the direction of Benjamin Fourmon, the sixth generation at the head of the estate, this Champagne House stands out for its remarkable ground-level Gallo-Roman cellars stretching over three kilometers. Appointed as a royal supplier since 1889, Joseph Perrier perpetuates time-honored know-how, emphasizing long aging periods.
The vineyard
This Cuvée Royale Extra Brut Organic comes from vineyards in Champagne certified for organic farming, located in the communes of Verneuil, Épernay, Moussy, Villedommange, Villenauxe, and Villers-Marmery.
The cuvée
The vinification of the Cuvée Royale Extra Brut Organic follows the principles of the traditional Champagne method. The House’s commitment to organic farming is reflected in a respectful approach to the grapes throughout the entire production process. The bottle’s presentation also reflects this environmental approach: a label made from recycled paper produced from grape residues, a bio-based capsule, and eco-optimized printing techniques. The dosage is 5 g/L.
Grape varieties
Pinot Meunier (42%), Chardonnay (37%), Pinot Noir (21%).
