Description
Tasting characteristics and advice for Réserve 2025 from Famille Perrin
Tasting
Appearance
The wine displays a lovely pale yellow hue, bright and clear.
Nose
The nose opens on a floral, fruity bouquet, marked by aromas of yellow fruits—especially pear and quince—alongside floral notes brought by Viognier.
Palate
On the palate, this white wine charms with its roundness and balance. A mineral freshness gives structure to the whole, while a subtle bitterness on the finish adds length and complexity.
Food and wine pairings
This Côtes du Rhône Blanc is an ideal match for grilled fish, seafood, and Mediterranean dishes. It also pairs beautifully with Provençal bouillabaisse, grilled vegetables, or a warm goat cheese salad.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate Réserve 2025, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12°C. A 30-minute decant helps to reveal its full aromatic range.
A Côtes du Rhône white wine combining freshness and character
The estate
Famille Perrin embodies five generations of passionate winegrowers in the southern Rhône Valley. A pioneer in organic farming as early as 1953, this winemaking dynasty has stood out for its early commitment to sustainable and biodynamic viticulture. Now led by the fifth generation, with Cécile Perrin as managing director since 2023, the family oversees around 300 hectares of vineyards spread across the prestigious terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Côtes-du-Rhône. Internationally recognized and a member of Primum Familiae Vini since 2006, Famille Perrin is present in one hundred and ten countries, while preserving its independence and its core values of respect for terroir.
The vineyard
This Côtes du Rhône wine comes from a variety of terroirs in the southern Vallée du Rhône, characterized by alluvial and clay-limestone soils. These diverse terroirs allow Mediterranean white grape varieties to fully express themselves, benefiting from the region’s sunny climate while retaining beautiful aromatic freshness.
The vintage
The 2025 vintage is characterized by a hot, sunny summer that encouraged excellent grape concentration. Cool nights preserved aromatic freshness and a good level of acidity—essential elements for the balance of the wines. The remarkable health of the grapes and controlled yields suggest an outstanding vintage, with expressive wines featuring a well-balanced natural vibrancy.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes are harvested very early in the morning to take advantage of the night’s coolness. After pressing, cold static settling removes suspended particles. Alcoholic fermentation for Réserve 2025 takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at a low temperature of 16°C, thus preserving the fruit’s delicate aromas. The wines are then racked and aged in stainless-steel tanks until bottling, an approach that maintains aromatic purity without any oak influence.
Grape varieties
Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier.
