Tasting
Appearance
This Bual Vintage 1920 displays a deep mahogany colour, clear and brilliant, with golden hints and greenish reflections.
Nose
The nose is fine and intense, revealing a bouquet of dried fruit, exotic spices and vanilla, with smoky notes mingled with cedar oil and balsamic hints.
Palate
Combining concentration and power, the palate charms with its balance and silky texture. The finish is persistent, releasing delicious notes of tobacco, exotic woods, cedar oil and wax.
Serving and Cellaring
To ensure optimal cellaring of this cuvée, we recommend storing the bottle upright in a dark, cool and dry room at a constant temperature, ideally not exceeding 16 °C. Before tasting, decanting beforehand will remove any sediment that may have formed in the bottle over time.

The Estate
Founded in 1811 by John Blandy and his brothers, the House of Blandy's remains the only founding family of the Madeira wine trade that still owns and runs its original house. Based in Funchal, on the island of Madeira, the brand now manages approximately 10 hectares of vines across the Terras Madeirenses. The Blandy Group is currently chaired by Katrina Blandy Mayson, while Chris Blandy leads the holding company Blandy SGPS as CEO. The Vineyard
This Bual 1920 is one of the most emblematic Madeira wines of the House of Blandy's. Over the decades, several bottlings have been offered, each uniquely shaped by heat, humidity and cask size. This latest release marks another historic milestone, as this Madeira wine aged for a century in American oak casks, then in glass demijohns from March 2017. The first representative of the Heritage Wine Collection, this exceptional centenary vintage is available worldwide, in only 1,199 individually numbered bottles.
