2013 Sauternes 2e Vin du Chateau Rieussec

Carmes de Rieussec is a Second Vin from Chateau Rieussec produced from young vines planted on 93 hectares (229.8 acres) estate. The 2013 Carmes de Rieussec is 87% Semillion, 8% Sauvignon Blanc, and 5% Muscadelle.

The first nose reveals aromas from the sauvignon followed by some freshness, and evolving exotic notes which end up taking over. The palate starts off very straight and silky, and then reveals lightly spiced hints of honey extending into the slightly vibrant finish.
