The estate
Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, a cooper who became a wine merchant and élevage specialist, Champy remains Burgundy’s oldest wine merchant house. Based in Beaune, it farms 21 hectares of vines in the Côte de Beaune, from Volnay to Corton-Charlemagne. Owned by the AdVini group since 2016, it is run by José Ramalho and Dimitri Bazas. The only active production site within Beaune’s city walls, Champy stands out for its listed 15th-century cellars and its environmental commitment.
The vineyard
The Clos Vougeot is an emblematic Grand Cru of the Côte de Nuits, located between Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée. Founded around 1110 by the Abbey of Cîteaux, this historic vineyard covers 49.86 hectares at an altitude between 240 and 255 meters. This exceptional terroir benefits from a privileged geographical setting that gives the wines a unique identity.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy.
