A Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru with a distinctive character

    The estate

Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, a cooper in Beaune, Champy is Burgundy’s oldest wine merchant house. Owned by the Meurgey family since 1990 and run by Pierre Meurgey, it farms twenty-one hectares in the Côte de Beaune, half of which are organically cultivated. Based within the walls of Beaune, it remains the last active production site inside the ramparts. Its exceptional heritage includes 15th-century cellars and an infrastructure inspired by Gustave Eiffel.

    The vineyard

The Climat Les Fichots is among the six premier crus of the Pernand-Vergelesses appellation. Located at the far north of the Côte de Beaune, on the slopes of the hills of Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-les-Beaune, this terroir lies between 250 and 350 meters above sea level. The vines grow on clay-limestone soils typical of the region, offering Pinot Noir ideal conditions to express its full personality.

    Winemaking and aging

The grapes for the Pernand-Vergelesses 1er cru "Les Fichots" 2015 were vinified using traditional Burgundian methods, allowing the Pinot Noir to fully express the character of this outstanding terroir.
