    Description

An atypical fine red wine from Haut-Médoc

    The estate
Situated in Haut-Médoc and belonging to the Miailhe family since 1924, Château Coufran is an atypical property of the appellation. Its unusual character comes from the blend of its wine, dominated by Merlot. This unique feature has earned Château Coufran the nickname "Pomerol du Médoc".

    The vineyard
The Château Coufran vineyard covers 76 hectares of vines aged 50 years on average and planted in gravel soils and marl on a clay subsoil. The vineyard is certified Agriculture Respectful of the Environment in Aquitaine of Level 2 (AREA) and High Environmental Value (HVE) of level 3.

    The winemaking
    Thermoregulated stainless steel tanks.

    The ageing
12 months in French oak barrels from the Seguin Moreau cooperage.

    The blend

    Merlot (85%), cabernet sauvignon (15%).
