Chateau Phelan Segur 2016: a well-structured and harmonious Saint-Estpehe

Chateau Phelan Segur is a red wine produced in the Saint-Estephe appellation. The vines are, on average, 35 years old. The 70 hectare vineyard has soil that is composed of gravel, pebbles and clay. Chateau Phelan Segur 2016 is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. Harvest took place without any issues from September 29th to October 21st.

Chateau Phelan Segur 2016 has a deep red colour with purple reflections. The nose is complex with aromas of red fruit and black fruits (blackberries, cherries, strawberries). Notes of sweet spices reveal themselves after aeration. Chateau Phelan Segur is smooth and consistent in the mouth. The finish is long and powerful. This wine has a world-class structure, thanks to its dense and harmonious tannins.
