    The Estate

    Located in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe in northern Piémont, the estate Cordero di Montezemolo embodies one of the iconic figures of Italian viticulture. Combining tradition and innovation, the Montezemolo family crafts wines with an international reputation.

    The Vineyard

    The estate spans approximately 51 hectares within the finest terroirs of Piémont. These carefully tended vineyards produce wines of character, renowned for their depth, elegance and remarkable aging potential.

    The Wine

    Coming from plots located between La Morra, Alba and the Roero region, this Barbera d'Alba reflects the geological diversity of the area. The vines, planted on a mosaic of soils — silty clay, sand and microelements — benefit from varied altitudes and exposures, contributing to the wine’s richness and complexity.

    Winemaking and Aging

    The grapes, hand-harvested in late September, undergo fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for 8 to 10 days. After racking, malolactic fermentation takes place in French and Slavonian oak barrels of varying sizes. The wine is then aged for 5 to 6 months in barrels, followed by bottle aging which further refines its expression before release.
