The estate
Nestled in Aloxe-Corton, Château Corton C. is rooted around a historic castle whose current architecture dates back to the late 19th century. Taken over by the Frey family in 2014-2015, it was entrusted to Caroline Frey, a renowned oenologist who also heads La Lagune (Bordeaux) and Paul Jaboulet Aîné (Rhône). Under her impetus, the vineyard converted to organic farming (2021 certification) and is moving towards biodynamics, with a vision centered on biodiversity and precision in winemaking. The name "Château Corton C" gradually evolved to Domaine Caroline Frey, clearly asserting the signature of its director. This continuity has resulted in more chiseled wines, combining energy, purity of fruit and elegance.
The vineyard
The heart of the estate beats at "Clos du Château", a 0.33 ha monopole enclosed by walls, planted with pinot noir in 1973, classified as Corton Grand Cru.
Grape variety
100% pinot noir.
