The Estate
The Domaine du Château de Meursault has taken its modern form since 1973, when André Boisseaux purchased the château, restored it and structured the vineyard. Since December 2012, the estate has been owned by the Halley family, led by Olivier Halley, who continues a tradition of excellence in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. Today, the estate spans 67 hectares farmed organically, divided between Meursault and the neighbouring terroirs, making it one of the region's emblematic estates.
The Vineyard
The Bourgogne Terroir d'Exception comes from a parcel located close to Meursault, on limestone soils typical of the Côte de Beaune.
The Vintage
The 2025 growing cycle began under grey skies, before the vines restarted around 25 March, with widespread budburst in early April across the Côte de Beaune. Growth was rapid and steady in early May, followed by a two-stage flowering in late May. The second stage, cooler and more unsettled, caused coulure and millerandage and reduced the crop potential. Véraison was completed in early August in excellent sanitary condition, with small berries in loose, airy bunches, heralding an early harvest in late August.
Vinification and Ageing
Following precise monitoring of ripeness plot by plot, the grapes destined for the Bourgogne Terroir d'Exception 2025 were picked swiftly to preserve their freshness. After manual sorting, pressing and settling, alcoholic fermentation takes place in barrel, depending on the terroirs. The wine is then aged on its lees, with lees stirring adjusted on a case-by-case basis, which contributes to its texture and saline finish.
