The Estate
The Domaine du Château de Meursault traces its origins back to the 11th century, in Burgundy, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Entirely restored in 1973 by André Boisseaux, it became one of the largest wine estates in the region. Since December 2012, the estate has belonged to the Halley family, whose wine and wine tourism activities are now led by Olivier Halley. The vineyard, which extends over 67 hectares, has been farmed entirely organically since the 2022 vintage.
The Vineyard
This wine comes from the Meursault 1er Cru Charmes appellation, a climat located on the Meursault hillside, a global benchmark for great Chardonnay white wines in the Côte de Beaune. Like the rest of the estate's vineyard, this plot has been farmed organically since the 2022 vintage, with hand harvesting and rigorous grape sorting.
Winemaking and Ageing
The grapes for this Meursault 1er Cru “Charmes” 2025 are hand-harvested and then sorted before pressing and settling. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels over ten to fifteen days, depending on the terroirs, after which the wine is aged on its lees, with lees stirring adjusted to achieve the desired balance for each cuvée.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay, the emblematic grape of the great white wines of the Côte de Beaune.
