An expressive and aromatic red wine from Faugères
The estate
An iconic name in Faugères, Domaine Bardi d’Alquier has more than 150 years of history. Today, the Alquier family still runs the estate and strives to capture the finest expression of this great Languedoc terroir.
The vineyard
The Bastides d’Alquier cuvée is a Faugères wine produced from 12 hectares of vines planted on hard schist soils at the top of the slopes. The 65-year-old vines grow at altitudes of between 300 and 350 metres.
Winemaking and ageing
Partial destemming, long maceration and pumping over. Aged for 16 to 18 months in barrels (40% new).
Blend
Les Bastides D'Alquier 2015 from Domaine Bardi d'Alquier is a blend of Syrah and Grenache.
