Possesses crisp freshness, well rounded by the oak, juicy; impressive for the second wine.

Reserved in style, with a hint of alder up front, followed by gently mulled black cherry and currant fruit. Shows subtle tugs of earth and bay leaf that run underneath, blossoming a bit through the dark finish. Solid. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2025 through 2035. 13,800 cases made.

Seductively scented, deep and dark, ripe black fruits with very soft floral scents. Ripe, juicy and so approachable, such a great texture, mouthfilling in a delicate way. It's a cool style, with blue fruits — blueberries, plums, cherries — but the tannins are so well integrated and underpinned by quite high acidity that this just stays off being austere for the moment (but does give a healthy dose of firmness on the mid-palate). I love the overall feel, really well worked with a light overall frame. A slow burner with classic charm. pH 3.70.

Black currant, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with polished tannins and a pretty texture. Vivid and creamy mouthfeel. Lovely finish. Second wine of Lynch-Bages. Better in 2025.

Earthy red fruits, cedar, spice and tobacco leaf nuances already express themselves on the nose and palate of this forward, charming, medium-bodied, fruit-filled wine. Classic and firm, this is perfect to enjoy with a nice, juicy steak in a bistro or café. Drink from 2024-2034.

Opaque ruby core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Fine dark berries, hints of blackberry and cassis, delicate herbal savoriness. Juicy, round and elegant on the palate with fresh red cherries, ripe tannins, mineral-salty finish. Already drinking very well and will be great with food.

Close to an even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2021 Echo De Lynch-Bages is surprisingly tight and closed, with almost reductive notes of smoky black cherries, graphite, and scorched earth. These carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, foursquare mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. The tannins are a bit aggressive, and this certainly might lack a touch of finesse, however, I do like the overall depth of fruit and its balance. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar, and I expect it will drink beautifully over the following decade.

Brambled blue and black fruits, undergrowth, pencil lead and tobacco leaf, plenty of Pauillac character, with tannins that are almost limbering up and ready to drink, far earlier than in vintages like 2020 or 2022. This has some impressively silky tannins, and is an upscore. 11% new oak, the rest one year old. pH 3.7.

A blend of 56% Merlot and 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a little coaxing to bring out notes of fresh black and red plums and redcurrants, followed by suggestions of fallen leaves and white pepper, with a hint of bay leaves. The light-bodied palate is lively and uncomplicated, with a pleasant touch of chewiness to the tannins and a savory finish.

With a bouquet marked by nuances of graphite and cassis, Echo de Lynch Bages 2021 clearly reveals the estate’s terroir and winemaking style. Slightly creamy, the wine has powerful tannins that define the mid-palate and the finish. It certainly sets the tone.
