The property
Château Cos d'Estournel, founded in 1811 by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, is a prestigious Bordeaux estate, located in Saint-Estèphe. Classified as a second grand cru in 1855, it extends over 91 hectares with a vineyard dominated by cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Michel Reybier, owner since 2000, has modernized the facilities while preserving the architectural heritage. The estate stands out for its unique Asian architecture and innovative winemaking practices, such as gravity winemaking. Cos d'Estournel wines are renowned for their power and elegance.
The vineyard
Located in the north of the Médoc, near the Gironde estuary, the vineyard benefits from a cool climate with natural ventilation due to the proximity of the ocean. This privileged situation gives the wines a characteristic freshness. The estate practices mechanical soil work and applies the principles of sustainable agriculture, with a replanting and grafting program to optimize the quality of the grapes.
Vinification and aging
