Aged on the full lees for about nine or 10 months in large oak, the 2019 Ried Kellerberg Riesling is quite ripe and concentrated on the nose but also deep and flinty, with attractive phenols. Very elegant and juicy on the palate, this is a round, mild and almost seamlessly textured Riesling with ripe and stewed apricot aromas and fine tannin grip. Good length. 13% alcohol. Tasted at the domain in June 2021.

Maybe I’m amazed, because this stunning dry riesling marries ravishing fruit aromas. The spectrum ranges from mirabelle to candied lemon via peach, also with wild-herb notes, plus stony minerality. The long finish flickers between lime zest and white chocolate. And all somehow remains delicate! Drink or hold.

(13% vol. alcohol) Powerful, fresh, finely mineral bouquet: peach, apricot skin, lychee, slate. Balanced, full-bodied palate with delicate fruit, well-integrated acidity, a dense structure, intense aromatics, and a long finish with a finely bitter edge. 18/20 drink through 2036
