Description
Five great vintages of Château Canon brought together in an exceptional gift set
The estate
Founded in the 18th century by Jean Biès, Château Canon occupies a prime position on Saint-Émilion’s prestigious limestone plateau, spanning 34 hectares. Acquired by Jacques Kanon in 1760, the estate was renamed in 1853. Since 1996, it has belonged to the Wertheimer brothers (Chanel), with Nicolas Audebert at its helm.
The vineyard
Château Canon’s vineyard flourishes on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, at an altitude of 87 meters. This privileged location, protected from frost by surrounding walls, offers ideal conditions for the expression of the grape varieties. The clay-limestone terroir, a hallmark of this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, imparts the wines with the characteristic mineral tension and salinity that have earned the estate its renown.
The gift set
The year 2025 celebrates 30 years of a close bond between two illustrious estates—Château Canon (Saint-Émilion) and Château Rauzan-Ségla (Margaux)—and Maison Chanel. Produced for the occasion in an exclusive, limited edition, two complementary gift sets echo one another to reveal both the complementarity of these two estates and their intrinsic essence.
Adorned with a camellia in tribute to Maison Chanel and crafted from noble materials, each set contains 5 landmark vintages in the estate’s history, accompanied by a presentation booklet. Each brings together a vertical of signature vintages—four bottles and one magnum—witnesses to time and rare savoir-faire. A tribute to thirty years of ties with Chanel, these cases are designed to be collected as a pair and then kept, once the wines have been enjoyed, as exceptional objects. Sobriety, elegance, preciousness: an invitation to savor timelessness.
