Description
The elegance of a rare edition by Cantenac Brown
The estate
Château Cantenac-Brown was built at the beginning of the 19th century by John-Lewis Brown in the commune of Cantenac. The property showcases an English Tudor Renaissance style in homage to his Scottish roots. Year after year, this magnificent Grand Cru Classé of Margaux has earned an international reputation for the quality of its terroir and wines. At the end of 2019, Château Cantenac-Brown entered a new era in its history following its acquisition by the Le Lous family. Significant investments and restructuring were carried out both in the vineyard and the cellar to elevate even further the excellence of this Grand Cru Classé of Margaux, which enjoys a stellar reputation.
The vineyard
Château Cantenac Brown 2023 is a Margaux wine made from a 60-hectare vineyard spread across the Margaux and Cantenac plateaus. Under the direction of José Sanfins, vineyard management follows an environmentally respectful approach. Soils are tended in the traditional way to promote microbial life and chemical balance. Fertilization is exclusively plant-based. Thanks to a highly dedicated technical team, each vine receives meticulous, individualized care.
Château Cantenac Brown unveils a rare and precious creation
Produced in only 100 numbered examples, this screen-printed Double Magnum Collection "Terre & Temps" 2015 from Château Cantenac Brown celebrates both the Margaux appellation, land of great wines, and time, the vineyard’s and mankind’s precious ally. Each bottle, numbered and signed, is presented in a custom raw-wood case, stamped with the château’s seal and the three wine-colored bands that also adorn the walls of the estate’s new raw-earth cellar, inaugurated in 2023. Beyond the object itself, a vision takes shape: transmission, respect for biodiversity, and sustainable viticulture, where heritage engages in dialogue with innovation in an approach that is both environmental and artistic.
The vintage
The year 2015 was marked by particularly favorable weather for the vineyard. A dry spring promoted an even flowering. Warm and sunny, the summer was punctuated by welcome August rains, ideal for refining grape ripeness.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (61%)
Merlot (39%).
