The estate

Like a true Maharajah’s palace, the château and its pagodas surprise and captivate the eye. In 1791, Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel inherited hectares of vines and established the estate. An adventurer who traveled the world, his taste for the exotic and the Orient bestowed upon Château Cos d’Estournel this singular architecture in the Médoc. Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, Château Cos d’Estournel continues to shine within the Saint-Estèphe appellation and stands among the world’s greatest wines, distinguished by its unique style where a passion for beauty and excellence is a constant pursuit.

The vineyard

A benchmark among the great wines of Saint-Estèphe, Château Cos d’Estournel enjoys an exceptional geographical location. Its vineyard lies along the edge of a plateau, in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary. The vineyard thus benefits from a maritime climate while being protected from bad weather. The vines are planted on two hillsides and a central plateau, benefiting from ideal exposure and good ventilation.
