Tasting
This Château La Conseillante 2025 harmoniously combines freshness, aromatic precision, balance and elegance.
The structure and richness of a great Pomerol wine
The estate
Founded in the 18th century by Catherine Conseillan, Château La Conseillante stands among the most prestigious names of Pomerol, on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. Acquired by the Nicolas family estate in 1871, it has stood the test of time, consistently producing exceptional wines.
The vineyard
The vineyard spans 11.13 hectares in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, with 10.7 hectares in production for this 2025 vintage. The soils are composed of 60% grey clay and 40% sandy gravels, offering an exceptional terroir to vines averaging 35 years of age.
The vintage
The 2025 vintage took place in a warm, dry and early climatic context, with a mild winter that encouraged early budburst and rapid flowering. The summer, marked by intense drought and heat peaks, generated water stress to which the vines adapted well. Late August rains came to rebalance ripening, giving the vintage a profile that is both sun-drenched and harmonious. The harvest, which began on 28 August, yielded grapes of remarkable quality, combining freshness and balance.
Winemaking and aging
Plot-by-plot vinification in 22 epoxy-lined thermo-regulated concrete vats and 5 raw concrete micro-vats. After a 5-day cold pre-fermentation maceration, vatting extends over 28 to 30 days. 5% of the production undergoes integral vinification. Aging takes place over 15 months, with 70% in new French oak barrels and 30% in one-wine barrels, allowing the wine to develop its aromatic complexity. Alcohol content: 13.5% Vol.
Blend
87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon.
